External Security Light Installation with Concealed Cabling
A customer asked WES to install a new external security light to the rear of their property. The main challenge was finding a suitable cable route without leaving visible external wiring or causing unnecessary damage to the existing internal decoration.

The brief
The customer had selected the exterior light fitting and wanted it installed neatly at the rear entrance.
Rather than simply running new cable visibly across the brickwork or using unnecessary surface containment internally, the aim was to find a concealed route that preserved the appearance of the property.
Planning the cable route
Before installing the light, WES assessed the available cable routes and access points.
Careful routing allowed the new wiring to reach the rear lighting position while keeping the finished cable installation hidden from view.
Controlled access was used where required to route the cable, avoiding unnecessary chasing or damage to the existing decorated surfaces.
Installation
The new wiring was installed to the rear lighting position and the customer-supplied external light fitting was securely mounted to the brickwork.
The installation was completed with the new cable route concealed rather than leaving visible wiring running across the rear elevation.
A clean finished result
Once completed, the rear wall was left with a clean appearance and no unnecessary visible cable route. The existing internal decoration was preserved.
For smaller electrical alterations like this, the finished appearance is an important part of the installation. Spending time planning the route can make the difference between an installation that looks added on and one that sits naturally within the property.
Completion
The completed electrical work was checked and tested appropriately after installation.
